Ani Binkley

Ani Binkley, a Eureka-based artist, is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her at home in Humboldt County, CA and her paintings reflect her reverence for nature, particularly landscapes and hillscapes, coastal images, florals, and the majestic redwoods and many trees of the North Coast. She is fascinated by the way light filters through tree branches and through fog, and particularly enjoys studying how the light at different points throughout the day (especially the golden hour at dusk) interact with weather to impact our emotional reaction to nature. While she also finds inspiration in many poets who write about their own sacred experience of nature, she relies on paint instead of words to capture the emotional impact and spiritual connection she feels to the natural world.
